SUMMARY:

Research into public management practices based on inclusion, participation, and efficiency has fostered a reconfiguration of the precepts of contemporary Public Administration. From this perspective, co-production has been identified as a participatory production strategy, involving citizens and partnerships with other sectors in order to co-produce public services. This dissertation aimed to understand intersectoral co-production in public education, identifying different models of articulation between the State, civil society, and the community, as well as examining its effects on organizations. Structured in the format of three articles, the work initially focused on mapping the existing theoretical advances on intersectoral co-production in the context of public education; then, it analyzes the dynamics of intersectoral co-production in the case of the Alpargatas Institute in the public school system of Campina Grande-PB; and, finally, it systematizes the effects of intersectoral co-production in education on the actors involved. The methodological trajectory consisted of a qualitative and exploratory approach, via a Systematic Literature Review, followed by field research in the city of Campina Grande-PB. Documentary research procedures, semi-structured interviews, on-site observations, and content analysis will be used with data derived from an intersectoral co-production case involving the Alpargatas S.A. Institute, the Alpargatas S.A. company, and the public education network of the city of Campina Grande-PB. The initial results derived from the RSL (Research, Study, and Learning) highlighted the different scenarios in which intersectoral co-production manifests itself in the context of public education, individually, in groups, or collectively, mapping the benefits and challenges generated for the management of these specific services.
