SUMMARY:

The growth of the nonprofit sector has been accompanied by a social demand for transparency and accountability. This movement reflects a transition from a predominantly emotional logic to a more rational stance on the part of donors and society, related to cases of corruption and misuse of resources. In the context of faith-based organizations, this transformation is even more sensitive, since these institutions have historically operated based on moral values and bonds of trust. This scenario intensifies the demand for concrete demonstrations of the social impact generated, highlighting the scarcity of evaluative instruments specifically designed for these organizations. In this context, the present project aims to understand the social impact of religious organizations through a system of evaluation indicators. To achieve this objective, three studies will be conducted. The first proposes a system of indicators, based on the literature, for the evaluation of the social impact of religious organizations. The second aims to develop and validate a scale for measuring impact in religious organizations operating in the health sector. The third intends to analyze the impact of these organizations through the application of the scale. Based on the results of these studies, this research seeks to contribute theoretically to the field of impact assessment, particularly in faith-based organizations, by developing a validated assessment instrument. Furthermore, in the practical field, it may enable leaders and managers to better monitor their actions and, consequently, generate positive changes in the lives of their beneficiaries and for society at large.
